Leadership and team coaching for startups, enterprises, and nonprofits

Quirkwise is a leadership and team coaching practice. We work with startups, enterprises, nonprofits, and schools, usually when the pressure is already on: a company scaling faster than its structure, a team coming apart in a reorg, a founder carrying too much alone. Our work combines coaching with experiential methods like psychodrama and expressive arts, and it is practical and hands-on rather than purely advisory. Leaders come away making clearer, faster decisions and leading with more confidence. Their teams communicate better and stay aligned on where they are heading. These changes are built to last long after the engagement ends.

We’re Quirkwise

We help enterprises, startups, nonprofits, and schools build teams that hold together and lead with clarity.

Most of the organizations we work with are doing important work with limited time and resources. Priorities shift, decisions pile up, and teams take the strain.
We help you:
• Get clear on what matters right now
• Work through transitions, conflict, and cultural erosion
• Rebuild focus before burnout sets in
Whether you are a fast-growing startup, a nonprofit moving beyond its pilot, or a school developing its people, we shape the work around where you are.

Our Coaching Approach

Most leadership problems are not knowledge problems. Leaders usually know what they should do. What stops them is harder to reach: a pattern they cannot see, a conversation they keep avoiding, a role they have outgrown. This is why our work is built around practice rather than advice.

The work is experiential. We draw on psychodrama, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, and expressive arts, each for a specific purpose. Psychodrama lets a team rehearse a difficult moment before it happens. Transactional Analysis makes the patterns in how people relate visible enough to change. Internal Family Systems looks at what drives a behavior. Expressive arts reach what discussion alone tends to miss.

Sessions focus on real situations the team is facing: a stalled decision, a conversation that keeps being postponed, a long-standing pattern in how people work.

We call this grounded leadership: awareness and skill built through practice, so it lasts beyond the sessions. Whether it is team coaching for a company mid-scale or a founder learning to share the load, people leave with something they can apply.

Why Work With Us

Tested under pressure

We have coached leaders and teams through growth, reorgs, burnout, and periods of rapid scaling. We understand how teams come under strain and what keeps them steady.

Strategy Meets Emotional Precision

We pair strategic clarity with emotional insight, because lasting change needs both. Many programs focus on one and neglect the other.

Embedded, Not Advisory

We work alongside your team rather than handing over recommendations from the outside. The aim is systems and habits that continue after the engagement ends.

Flexible Format, Practical Tools

We work in whatever format the situation calls for, from a single workshop to a coaching engagement to a long-term partnership. The pace and depth are shaped by your team’s capacity and current priorities.

Sector-Spanning Perspective

We work across nonprofits, startups, and schools, so insight from one sector informs our work in another.

Frequently Asked Questions

Leadership coaching is structured work, one-to-one or with a team, that helps leaders think more clearly, make better decisions, and lead under pressure. At Quirkwise it is experiential: it uses psychodrama, Transactional Analysis, and expressive arts, so the learning comes from practice, not only discussion. Sessions are practical and tailored to what you are dealing with as a leader.

Leadership coaching works with the individual leader. Team coaching works with the group as a system: how it makes decisions, handles conflict, and maintains trust. Most teams benefit from some of both, and we shape the balance around the specific problem in front of them, whether that is a stalled decision, a conflict, or a gap in how the team is led.

Leadership coaching is for founders, senior teams in larger companies, nonprofit leaders, and anyone responsible for other people. It helps most during change: scaling, restructuring, a new role, or a period of burnout. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from it. It is as useful for a leader growing quickly as for one holding a team together.

It depends on the goal. A focused piece of work might run six to eight sessions over a few months. Team and organizational engagements usually run longer, from a quarter to a year, so change has time to hold. We agree the length with you at the start, based on the goal and the number of people involved.
